At BIS the Department of Visual Arts leases students to form a concrete foundation in studio art practice and study of art history. Classes taught by experienced faculty who are professional artists, in a bright, large, modern amenities ensure the best possible learning atmosphere for Visual Arts students. Our art program is dedicated to develop critical thinking and visual literacy through an engaging and supportive/caring studio setting. Our curriculum is designed to foster independent learning through differentiated and self-directed work. We develop a lifelong aptitude and desire to learn, explore, create and invent. The visual arts curriculum is committed to the process of creating over the product we produce. We the teachers encourage students to experiment, insist and arrive at their own unique solution while promoting skill building, discovery, and innovation. Incorporating art history and contemporary art of local and global into the curriculum exposes students to global awareness and viewpoints other than their own. Working in a collaborative peer-learning environment, students develop creative problem solving skills, self-expression, and visual literacy.
